PHILADELPHIA, PA: Democratic Supreme Court nominee Jack Panella has received the endorsement of the Philadelphia Fire Fighters Union, Local #22. Citing his “understanding and great empathy for the men and women in the labor industry,” the organization’s Executive Board and members voted to endorse Panella’s candidacy on Wednesday. The endorsement comes on the heels of another key endorsement from Philadelphia’s Fraternal Order of Police, Lodge #5.
“Over the course of my judicial career, I have always worked for the rights of working families,” Judge Panella said. “The men and women of Local #22 work tirelessly for the city of Philadelphia, and their support means a great deal to me.”
The Philadelphia Fire Fighters Union’s mission is to promote the interests of professional fire fighters and emergency medial personnel in Philadelphia. The organization currently represents 4,200 members.
Currently serving on Pennsylvania’s Superior Court, Judge Panella has more than 18 years of experience on the bench. With a distinguished record of working to ensure the integrity and ethics of the courts, Panella has presided over a wide range of criminal, civil cases, and complex tort litigation. He is the only judge in the history of Pennsylvania to serve as both the Chair of the Judicial Conduct Board and President Judge of the Court of Judicial Discipline.
